Hezron Chetty
I am a violinist, musician, composer, author, producer, artist, and believer in the spiritual. I am also someone who believes in pushing boundaries through art and in one’s life.

Hezron Chetty is the name given to me at birth, but it has also come to represent everything I am involved in. It has developed into something remarkable that functions in songwriting, studio recordings, live performance, community work, and more. Created as more than just a persona, it reflects my need to push the boundaries of my instrument and myself. From my early beginnings learning classical music through the Royal School of Music to studying towards a Bachelor of Music at university, specializing in Jazz and Popular Music, I left in my final year because I felt the need to leave the familiar nest and the comforts of family life to explore the world performing, living, and researching my art, my love for the violin, and music.

It has always been a goal of mine to travel the world and live my life as a true musician. This means embracing all the ups and downs that come with the journey. The ups include having my songs played on major radio and TV globally like BBC Radio, Netflix and more to touring and performing everywhere from the smallest, most beautiful stages to the streets to the grandest, most lavish venues and festivals, such as the Royal Opera House, Green Point Stadium, The Jazz Café, Heimathafen, Ronnie Scott’s, Rudolstadt Festival, Rocking the Daisies, and more. I have supported acts like Incubus, Vieux Farka Touré, Jocelyn Brown, and Paco Sery, and shared lineups with Eagles of Death Metal, Hugh Masekela, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Raekwon, and Mac Miller.
The downs include the constant need to prove that I have a place in the music industry as an artist and, when no one else believes in me, to believe in myself, push through the dark days, and continue doing what I love: creating music, my passion and purpose.

I left my hometown and country of Durban, South Africa many years ago to research various cultures and how the violin plays a role within them, and to perform in different countries, sharing everything I had learned. Music is meant to be shared across cultures, as is the knowledge that comes with it. This journey has taken me to the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Mozambique, Tanzania, India, the Netherlands, and more and it continues as I currently reside in Berlin, Germany. Over the years, I have created a community and network that has supported me throughout this journey, and it will continue to grow, nurture, and blossom.
